Geophysical studies for future Oakwood Station

What work is taking place?

·

A crew will be conducting geophysical studies to determine the soil characteristics in the area.

·

The test is done by hitting the bare asphalt with a solid pipe, which produces a dull thud. The seismic signal produced by this hit is recorded by instruments on the ground.

·

This is a non-destructive non-invasive test carried out along a straight line.

·

The test is done at nine meter intervals.

When:

·

The seismic testing is expected to take place during the week of March 14, 2016.

·

The work will take place between 11 pm and 5 am, when there is the least car and truck activity on the road.

·

It is estimated work will take less than one night to complete.

·

The work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions.

Where:

·

Our crews will move along Eglinton Avenue West, from Oakwood Avenue to Glenholme Avenue.
