WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Lanes will be realigned to accommodate guideway construction on Eglinton Avenue East at the Celestica Bridge. Traffic is expected to change to the configuration depicted below as early as April 23, 2019 and continue for approximately three (3) months. 

All works are in support of the construction of the Crosstown LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the centre of Eglinton Avenue East.

 

TIMING 

 

  • Work will begin as early as April 23, 2019 and continue for three (3) months. 
  • This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The work zone will be shifted to the centre of Eglinton Avenue East for guideway construction. 
  • Lane reductions will be required with a minimum of two through lanes of traffic in each direction maintained.
  • There may be occurrences where a shoulder is narrowed and/or a traffic protection barrier is placed to accommodate safe working conditions.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

 

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS 

  • The south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East will remain closed.
