What is the Crosstown?

Metrolinx is building the Eglinton Crosstown, Toronto’s new 19-kilometre light rail transit (LRT) line that will run along Eglinton Avenue with a central 10 km underground section. The Crosstown will connect Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy Road in the east, and the new service will be up to 60% faster than the bus service today. With 25 stations and stops and connections to 3 TTC subway stations, 54 local bus routes, 3 GO Transit lines and the UP Express, the Crosstown will improve travel times and change the way we move through the heart of the city.

What work is happening?

Crews will be working within the roadway at Keele Street/Trethewey and Eglinton Avenue West intersection in advance of the construction of the Keelesdale Station.

A work zone will be set up in the westbound lane on the east side of the intersection and will be closed to Keele Street.

Hours of Work

 This closure will occur between 5:00 a.m. Saturday March 11th to 5:00 a.m. on, Sunday March 12th 2017.  Please note that work could be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.


Traffic Details

  • Paid duty officer will be on site to direct southbound traffic turning east onto Eglinton Avenue.
  • All other turning will be restricted during this work.
  • Flagmen will be present allowing for the flow of traffic east and west on Eglinton Avenue at this work zone.
  • Buses will be permitted to make turn from Eglinton westbound to Trethewey Drive northbound.


Pedestrian Detaills

  • All pedestrian walkways will remain open.
