What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Monday, January 30, 2023, crews at Laird Station will begin filling bore holes along Eglinton Avenue East at Sutherland Drive and east of Don Avon Drive. To facilitate this work safely, eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to two through lanes at Sutherland Drive. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to two through lanes east of Don Avon Drive. The eastbound right turn lane from Eglinton Avenue East onto Sutherland Drive will be restricted. The northbound right turn lane from Sutherland Drive onto Eglinton Avenue East will be restricted. The eastbound TTC bus stop located at the southwest corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Sutherland Drive will be temporarily relocated approximately 30 metres east. Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone. This work is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., for approximately three (3) days.
What to Expect
Crews will be filling bore holes along Eglinton Avenue East at Sutherland Drive and east of Don Avon Drive. Concrete barriers, fencing, and signage will be in place to delineate the work zones. Noise from construction activities can be expected. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Expect delays while traveling through the area.
HOURS OF WORK
• As early as Monday, January 30, 2023, for approximately three (3) days.
• Work is expected to take place on Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
• This work may be longer or shorter than expected.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
• Eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to two through lanes at Sutherland Drive.
• Eastbound and westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to two through lanes east of Don Avon Drive.
• The eastbound right turn lane from Eglinton Avenue East onto Sutherland Drive will be restricted.
• The northbound right turn lane from Sutherland Drive onto Eglinton Avenue East will be restricted.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
• Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone.
TRANSIT INFORMATION
• The eastbound TTC bus stop located at the southwest corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Sutherland Drive will be temporarily relocated approximately 30 metres east.
• Access to TTC will be maintained at all times.
