What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Wednesday, June 17 for approximately three days, crews at Keelesdale will be installing utility road crossings at Eglinton Ave W and Trethewey Dr. In order to safety perform these activities; lane closures will be required in two phases from 7:00am until 7:00pm. During phase one, crews will be closing the right, northbound lane on Trethewey Dr. Upon completion, crews will move into phase two and close the left, northbound lane and the southbound left turning lane on Trethewey Dr. One northbound lane will remain open throughout this work, and a Paid-Duty Officer will be directing traffic. After 7:00pm and upon completion of this work, both northbound lanes will reopen. Access to businesses will be maintained. There will be no impacts to TTC bus service.

Hours of Work

  • Crews will begin lane reductions from as early as 7:00am until approximately 7:00pm.
  • Utility work will take approximately three days to complete, from as early as Wednesday June 17 until Friday June 19.
  • Work may be extended due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • This work may take longer or shorter than expected.

What to Expect

  • Phase one will involve closing the right, northbound lane on Trethewey Drive. Phase two will involve closing the left, northbound lane and the southbound left turning lane on Trethewey Drive.
  • A Paid-Duty Officer will be assisting traffic through the intersection.
  • One northbound lane will remain open.
  • All current traffic restrictions at the intersection will remain in place.
  • Expect delays when travelling through the area.

 

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • The southbound left turning lane will be closed during phase two. Buses excepted.
  • The pedestrian routes at the intersection will remain the same.
  • Access to properties will be maintained.
  • Trethewey Drive will be reduced to one northbound lane only from 7:00am until 7:00pm.

 

Transit Information

  • No impacts to TTC bus service.

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
