East tunnel boring machines begin their journey!

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT tunnel boring machines 'Don' and 'Humber' will begin their journey westward on September 29, 2015, marking another milestone toward the completion of the new LRT. 

The westbound tunnelling will start from the launch shaft located east of Brentcliffe Rd. and will proceed towards Yonge St. Work on the western segment of the tunnel has been underway since June 2013 with four of the 6.5 kilometres already complete. All tunnelling work is expected to be finished by the end of 2016. Read more »

Mount Pleasant Public School Meeting May 5

On Monday, May 4, Councillor Josh Matlow hosted a public meeting with the TDSB, parents of children attending Eglinton Junior Public School and Metrolinx to discuss station construction plans regarding the location of a vent shaft on school property, and general construction staging activities regarding the setup of a jet grout plant nearby. Dear Friends and Neighbours:

Come join us on Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19 to witness a significant milestone in the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit (LRT) project!  

Dennis and Lea, the tunnel boring machines (TBMs) that have been tunnelling the western segment of the Crosstown’s underground section, will be lifted out of the extraction shaft located west of Allen Road, and moved to the launch shaft located east of Allen Road.
