Allen Road Update - Closure will not be pursued
Construction of extraction and launch shafts along Eglinton Avenue at Allen Road began in February which has resulted in significant congestion along Eglinton. Options to alleviate the situation, including the closure of the Allen Road northbound, have been considered. Read more »

Re: Traffic Congestion and Pedestrian Safety at Allen Road/Eglinton Avenue
The Eglinton Crosstown is a light rail transit (LRT) line that will run across Eglinton Avenue between Mount Dennis (Weston Road) and Kennedy Station. This 19-kilometre corridor will include a 10-kilometre underground portion, between Keele Street and Laird Drive. It will provide a rapid and reliable service that will be up to 60% faster than bus service today, when it is completed in 2020. Read more »

Notice of Environmental Project Report Addendum: Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit
Rapid and reliable transit is coming to the centre of Toronto. The Crosstown will move Torontonians to work, school and play faster than ever before – reducing travel times and enhancing our economy and our environment. The Crosstown will run along Eglinton, with more than 10 kilometres underground, making transit travel up to 60 per cent faster than today. Read more »

We’re excited to announce the winning names of the tunnel boring machines (TBMs) for The Crosstown! The names were announced today by Metrolinx CEO Bruce McCuaig, Transportation Minister Glen Murray and MPP Laura Albanese.
