Scaffolding Removal and Repair Work at 223 Eglinton Avenue East August - September 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

In August 2019, crews will remove the multi-level scaffolding at 223 Eglinton Avenue East (Eglinton Junior Public School), in advance of construction returning to the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.  First, scaffold panels will be removed, then the building façade will be repaired.  The entire scaffolding structure is expected to be removed by October 2019.

Notice of Planned Overnight Water Shut-Off Wednesday, August 21, 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

On Wednesday August 21, crews will perform a water shut-off from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. to accommodate ongoing watermain work at Mount Pleasant station.

A test shut conducted on Sunday August 18 confirmed 269 to 341 Eglinton Avenue East will be affected by the shut-off on Wednesday August 21.

Traction Power Substation Construction Continues at Birchmount Road

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be conducting work on the Traction Power Substation (TPSS) 12, located on the north east corner of Birchmount Road and Eglinton Avenue East intersection. Starting as early as August 23, 2019 and lasting for approximately one (1) week. 

The north sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East will remain closed in order to carry out the work safely. Read more »

Overnight Concrete Pour at Forest Hill Station - Tuesday, August 20, 2019

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will conduct two separate concrete pours, one in August and one in September 2019, without the need for an intersection closure.  The concrete will form part of the future roof of Forest Hill Station.  

To ensure the continuity of the pour, and to minimize the impact to the travelling public, each pour will begin overnight when traffic is lighter. Construction notices will be issued in advance of each concrete pour. Read more »
