What work is starting?

What: Removal of the jet-grout delivery trench and road surface restoration within the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East.

When: Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. to Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 5:00 a.m.

Where: Crews will be working within the intersection at Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East.  

Why: This is part of the restoration work to return the Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East intersection to its original condition. Trenches were installed in the winter of 2015/2016 to facilitate grout delivery pipes for the underground headwall construction for the future Leaside station. 

Traffic Details

  • At least one single lane of traffic in all directions will be maintained.
  • All turns will be maintained.
  • All driveways and sidewalk will be maintained during these stages of construction.  
  • A City of Toronto Paid Duty Officer will be on-site during this work.

Work Hours

This trenching work to remove jet grout hoses/pipes will occur in the overnight hours. Crews will be completing restoration of the roadway overnight in an effort to minimize traffic impacts. As construction progresses, a trench east to west along Bayview will be installed.
