Brentcliffe overnight closure June 2015

WHAT: On behalf of the City of Toronto, Metrolinx will be reconstructing the surface of Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street. Between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street, Eglinton Avenue East will be blocked and traffic will be diverted. Paid Duty Officers (PDOs) will be employed to control traffic at each end of the work site.

WHY: This area of Eglinton Avenue East has been identified as needing repair because the condition of the roadway has affected travel eastbound. The City of Toronto has requested that Metrolinx contractors repair this Eglinton Avenue East roadway surface between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street.

WHEN: The work will start as early as June 15, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. This work will take place overnight and is expected to last approximately five nights. Some work may be rescheduled or adjusted due to weather conditions and/or unforeseen circumstances.

WHERE: A work zone will be set-up on both lanes of Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street - next to the east Eglinton Crosstown launch site. At both ends, the work zone will be separated from the right-of-way with traffic cones. There may be delays associated with this work as you travel through the area.

Work Hours

The hours of work as permitted are between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., 7 days a week. Timelines may be adjusted due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.

Transforming transit across the middle of Toronto will involve significant road works. Construction will be visible along the corridor and on some side streets. There will be short-term local street closures and turning restrictions to allow for the construction to take place. Metrolinx, City of Toronto staff and your elected officials are working closely together to monitor and make adjustments to the local road configurations, work zones and other day to day items such as signage and temporary adjustments.

Please support your local businesses during construction.
