Overnight Formwork Removal at Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West - March 11, 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Mount Dennis Station and the Rail Corridor will be conducting overnight work to remove formwork from the new GO Platform bridge parapet wall on Thursday March 11, 2021. Beginning as early as 8:00 p.m., crews will close the eastbound lanes on Eglinton from Weston Road to Keelesdale Road. Upon completion of the installation activities on the south end of the bridge, crews will move to the north end and close the westbound lanes on Eglinton from Weston Road to Black Creek Drive. Upon completion of the installation, Eglinton Avenue West will reopen.

What to Expect

Crews will be working overnight to remove formwork along the GO bridge parapet wall. Work is expected to take one night to complete. First, the eastbound lanes on Eglinton will be closed, followed by the westbound lanes. Noise from construction equipment such as trucks or and machinery can be expected; noise levels will remain the same as regular construction activity.

HOURS OF WORK

• Crews will be working overnight from as early as 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
• Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion
• This work may take longer or shorter than expected 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• All current pedestrian restrictions will remain in place during the eastbound closure
• North, east and west crosswalks at the Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Avenue West intersection will be closed during the westbound closure
• Access to businesses and properties will be maintained 

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue West will be closed from Weston Road to Keelesdale Road. Upon completion of the removals on the south end of the GO bridge, the lanes will reopen.
• Following eastbound lanes reopening, westbound lane on Eglinton Avenue West will be closed from Black Creek Drive to Weston Road to complete the removal on the north end of the GO bridge
• Advanced notifications will be provided to inform the traffic of the closures 

TRANSIT INFORMATION

• TTC bus routes will divert south of Eglinton Avenue West, on Black Creek Drive and Weston Road and Lambton Avenue 
• TTC bus stops will be temporarily relocated around Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West, and Black Creek Drive and Eglinton Avenue West
