What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday October 1st, 2019, crews will be hauling and storing excess soil from various Crosstown construction sites at 55 Ray Avenue (the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility land). Work will be ongoing for 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week for approximately one (1) year. Soil will be shielded from the natural environment, stored inside dome tents to act as erosion and sediment control, and for dust control measures. Pedestrian walkways, TTC, and vehicular access along the haul routes will remain open. 

Hours of Work 

  • As early as Tuesday October 1st, 2019 for approximately one year.
  • Trucks will be entering and storing soil from 3:00pm to 6:00am daily.
  • Trucks will be removing soil to the final disposal site(s) from 6:00am to 3:00pm daily.

What to Expect

  • Trucks frequently travelling within the haul route for approximately one (1) year.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones. Equipment will include a frontend loader, one skid steer, two diesel powered light towers and many soil hauling trucks.

 

Traffic Details

  • All pedestrian routes will remain open.
  • Access to properties along the haul route and Eglinton Ave W will be maintained.
  • No impacts to TTC bus service.
