What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning as early as March 25, 2020, crews will be working on a utility crossing on Eglinton Avenue East, east of Brentcliffe Road. The work will take place overnight for a period of three (3) nights. Lane restrictions will be in place during the overnight period,  flaggers will be onsite to regulate traffic.

Hours of Work

  • Utility works will take place in the overnight period, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on March 25, 26 and 27, 2020.
  • This work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Noise, lighting and traffic delays can be expected for the duration of this work.
  • Site lighting will be angled away from residential properties.
  • Crews will be sawcutting and hydrovaccing, backhoes and other construction vehicles will be in use.
  • Noisier activities will be scheduled for the period before 11:00p.m.
  • Equipment and material storage within the work zone.
  • Fencing and concrete barriers may be installed around the work zone.

Traffic Impacts

  • Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Eglinton Avenue East, east of Brentcliffe Road.
  • Flaggers will be onsite to regulate traffic

Pedestrian Impacts

  • No impacts to existing pedestrian routes

Transit Information

  • There are no changes to the existing TTC stops.
  • Travelling Smart during Construction
  • Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
