What work is starting?

Median Demolition:

·

Demolition of four medians – two located on Eglinton Avenue West and two located at Keele Street and Trethewey Drive

·

Work is scheduled for the hours of 7 am to 5 pm, starting as early as Monday March 7, 2016 and is expected to take approximately five days in total.

·

The medians on Eglinton Avenue West will be removed first and then the crew will remove the medians at Keele Street and Trethewey Drive.

Watermain Replacement:

·

Pending City of Toronto approval, activities to replace a City of Toronto watermain that runs north-south from Trethewey Drive to Keele Street will occur at night.

·

Work is scheduled for the hours of 10 pm to 5 am, starting as early as Thursday May 12, 2016 and will last for 10 working days (14 calendar days).

·

While every effort will be made to minimize noise, residents near the work site can expect to hear trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment.

Work to demolish the four medians will require occasional and temporary lane closures. When demolishing the medians on Keele Street at Trethewey Drive, the left turn lane from Keele Street onto Eglinton Avenue will be closed. At the end of each work day, the work zones will be plated, and traffic will return to normal function.

·

During the replacement of the water main, one lane of traffic will be open each way on Trethewey Drive and Keele Street and one lane of traffic will be open along each way along Eglinton Avenue during work hours.

·

A paid-duty officer will be in place to provide traffic control assistance at intersections, as required.

·

Temporary parking and sidewalk restrictions may be in place.

·
