What work is taking place?

As part of the ongoing GO Transit Track relocation works in the rail corridor, crews will continue working overnight to complete track destressing works. This work follows the track cut-over which took place from June 14-17, 2019. Work involves welding the joints of the new track.

Hours of Work

  • Crews will be working from 7:00pm overnight until 5:00am for until approximately Friday, July 26, 2019. This work does not involve weekend work.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • This work does not involve heavy noise or vibrations.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to see construction lighting.
  • Minimal truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone, and travelling through nearby streets can be expected due to the new haul routes and access points.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage.

 

 

Traffic & Pedestrian Impacts

  • TTC bus routes will be maintained.
  • Access to Weston Rd and Eglinton Ave will be maintained.
  • All existing sidewalks and crosswalks will be maintained during this work.
