What work is taking place?

On Tuesday April 9, 2019, crews will work overnight to implement a traffic configuration change at Keelesdale station for a new phase of work. This phase includes deck removal, roof construction, backfill, concrete works, and landscaping. The traffic configuration will be in place for approximately seven (7) months to complete the north side of Eglinton Ave W. Additional traffic staging will follow to complete the south side. 

Hours of work

  • The overnight traffic flip will take place from 9:00pm on Tuesday April 9, 2019 until 9:00am on Wednesday April 10, 2019.
  • The traffic configuration will remain in place for approximately seven (7) months, with additional staging to follow.
  • Crews will work from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional shifts until 11:00 p.m.
  • Occasional overnight and weekend work may be required during this phase. Notices will be updated with more detail before those works begin.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • A new work zone will be erected on Eglinton Ave W, east of Trethewey Dr & Keele St.
  • Traffic on Eglinton Ave W will be on the south side, with one lane remaining open in each direction. Construction activities will take place on the north side of Eglinton Ave W.
  • Traffic on Trethewey Dr north of Eglinton Ave W and Keele St south of Eglinton Ave W will be shifted to the east side, with one lane remaining open in each direction.
  • Traffic travelling south on Trethewey Dr will be permitted to make left turns eastbound. All other turns will be restricted.  
  • Yarrow Rd will remain closed to vehicular traffic. Pedestrian access will remain open.
  • Concrete trucks, excavation equipment, welding, torching of steel, backfilling, concrete works, asphalt paving, steel and decking removal and landscaping and crane hoisting can be expected.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.


TTC Impacts

  • TTC stops will be slightly shifted during this phase of work.
  • The eastbound stop located on the southwest corner of Eglinton Ave W and Keele St will be relocated just east of Keele St.
  • The eastbound stop located on the southeast corner of Eglinton Ave W and Keele St will be closed.
  • The southbound stop located just south Eglinton Ave West on Keele St will be moved further south.
  • The westbound stop at Keele St will be reinstated. 

Pedestrian Impacts

  • The west crosswalk will be temporarily eliminated for the duration of this work. The east, north, and south crosswalks will remain open.
  • The pedestrian sidewalk along the northwest corner will be closed. Pedestrians will be slightly rerouted around the northwest corner of the intersection.
