What Work is Taking Place?

To complete the installation of pipe dewatering on the south side of Eglinton Ave W, crews will be paving as early as Wednesday October 23rd from 10am to 2pm. The south lane will be closed from Northcliffe Blvd sequentially to Dynevor Rd. The lane will reopen once paving is completed. Dufferin St and Eglinton Ave W will remain open while this work takes place. While crews are in the intersection, one lane on Dufferin St will remain open. Should there be any unforeseen delays, work will occur on Thursday October 24th.

Hours of Work

  • As early as Wednesday October 23rd.
  • Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one shared lane from 10am until 2pm. Dufferin St will be reduced to one lane while crews work in the intersection. Upon completion, the intersection will reopen to two lanes.
  • Two-way traffic facilitated by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Officers.
  •  In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen delays, this work will be rescheduled to Thursday October 24th.


Construction Staging

Crews will be working on the east side of Dufferin St first, working their way west.

Crews will begin work on the west side of Dufferin St and within the intersection following the completion of the east side. 

What to Expect

 

  • Crews will be paving along Eglinton Avenue W on the south side, between Northcliffe Blvd and Dynevor Rd.
  • Upon completion of the works in the intersection, the intersection will re-open to two lanes.
  • There will be flagpersons directing traffic through the area for the duration of the work.
  • Noise from construction activity can be expected.

 

Traffic Details

  • Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • The north, south, and east crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The west crosswalk will remain closed.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
