Permanent Utility Restoration Works at Forest Hill Station - December 13, 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday December 13, 2021, permanent utility restoration works will begin at Forest Hill Station. This work will take place on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, between the Secondary Entrance site and Bathurst Street, for approximately 2 months. Periodically, crews will be required to temporarily close certain sections of the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, to connect the permanent utilities. Utility connection works will take approximately two (2) weeks to complete. Pedestrians will be rerouted around the closures. Affected properties and businesses have been notified directly.

What to Expect

Noise from construction equipment, including a hydro-vac truck, can be expected. Partial closures of the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, between the Secondary Entrance site and Bathurst Street. Pedestrian rerouting will be in effect. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Monday December 13, 2021
  • Utility connections will take approximately two (2) weeks to complete
  • Utility restoration works will continue for approximately two (2) months
  • These works are expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Overnight work may be required to facilitate specialized activities
  • This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • No changes to the current traffic configuration are expected as a result of this work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • Sections of the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily closed between the Secondary Entrance site and Bathurst Street
