What Work is Taking Place?

On February 4, 2020, crews at Fairbank station need to perform an emergency pipe repair for dewatering activities. To complete this work, the eastbound lane on Eglinton Ave W, west of Dufferin St will be closed. One lane on Eglinton Avenue W will remain open, and two-way traffic will be controlled by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Office any unforeseen circumstances, this work will take place on Wednesday February 5.

 Hours of Work

  • Tuesday, February 4, 2020
  • Lanes will be reduced from as early as 10:00am – 2:00pm.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

 

What to Expect

  • Crews will be repairing dewatering pipes on the southwest corner of Dufferin St and Eglinton Ave W, along Eglinton Ave W.
  • Upon completion of the works, Eglinton Ave W will re-open to two lanes.
  • There will be flagpersons directing traffic through the area for the duration of the work.
  • Noise from construction activity can be expected.

Traffic Details

  •  Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • The north, south, and west crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The east crosswalk will remain closed.
  • The eastbound lane on Eglinton Ave W will be temporarily closed for the duration of this work.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.

 

Travelling Smart During Construction

Travel delays are expected with Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
