What work is taking place?

As part of the ongoing GO transit expansion works at the rail corridor, crews will begin excavation works at track level behind Brownville Avenue as early as Tuesday October 15th. This work follows the track-cut over and will support the construction of the West GO platform footings. Work involves the use of an excavator to dig a trench, approximately 3 meters deep.

 

Hours of Work

  • Crews will be working from 7:00am until 11:00pm, Monday to Friday, beginning as early as Tuesday October 15th.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required. Notices will be updated and circulated in advance of weekend activities beginning.  
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 

What to Expect

  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to see an excavator in addition to construction lighting.
  • This work does not involve heavy noise or vibrations.
  • There will be truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone at Locust Street and travel through nearby streets can be expected due to the new haul routes and access points. For more information on hauling routes pls click here 
  •  In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage.
