What Work is Taking Place?

In preparation for the upcoming road widening works, crews will be removing and reinstating a portion of the retaining wall on Eglinton Avenue East, west of the CP Bridge. This work will begin as early as Wednesday, February 2 2022, and continue for approximately 6 weeks. Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane by the work zone while this work takes place. The south sidewalk between Leslie Street and Don Mills Road will be closed to pedestrians for the duration of this work. Pedestrians will be redirected to the north sidewalk, which will reopen. The west crosswalk at Leslie St. will be closed.

What to Expect

Expect delays while travelling through the area. Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and trucks, can be expected

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane by the work zone while this work takes place.
  • Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, west of the Don Mills intersection

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • The south sidewalk between Leslie Street and Don Mills Road will be closed to pedestrians for the duration of this work.
  • Pedestrians will be redirected to the north sidewalk, which will reopen.
  • The west crosswalk at Leslie St. will be closed.

HOURS OF WORK

  • Wednesday, February 2 – Wednesday, March 16, 2022
  • 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances
