for Avenue Station
What work is taking place?
- As part of the preparatory works, sewer investigations and installation of in-ground monitoring points will take place in the vicinity of Eglinton Avenue and Avenue Road
- As part of the sewer investigations, crews will enter existing manholes along the roadway and use cameras to observe the condition of sanitary sewers
- Short duration, localized lane closures will occur in the marked areas as crews move from one manhole to another
When:
- Monitoring equipment will be installed during a period of two weeks, beginning as early as April 18, 2016, between the hours 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sewer investigation will take place overnight for a period of three days, beginning as early as April 25, 2016, between the hours 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Where:
- Crews will be present along Eglinton Avenue West between Braemar Avenue and Lascelles Boulevard, on Avenue Road from Eglinton Avenue to Burnaby Boulevard, and along Highbourne Road approximately 50 m south of Eglinton Avenue.
Pedestrians:
- Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this stage of work. Some manholes may be located on the edge of the curb, in which case there would be protection around the hole on part of the sidewalk.
Traffic Details:
- Short-duration lane closures will occur in the marked areas as the crews move from one hole to another
- Parking spaces may be impacted if the hole is located within one. Protection is set-up around the work area (the hole), which may require a few spots at a time.
- As always, take care when travelling through construction sites
