What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning in late November 2016, crews will start support of excavation work, also known as shoring, at the future Fairbank Station.  The main entrance is located on the southeast corner of Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street.

Shoring is a common step in the process of constructing the foundation of a building.  Steel piles, as well as braces and tie-backs, will be installed around the perimeter of the station entrance to support excavation. Prior to installation of the piles, crew will construct a concrete guide wall on either side of the secant wall to ensure the alignment and verticality of the piles.

This stage will take approximately seventeen (17) weeks to complete.
