What work is starting?

Crews will be installing ground movement monitoring equipment at Leaside (Bayview) and Laird station locations. These monitors will provide information on ground conditions during station construction.

Timing

  • The installations began at the end of May 2016 and work will continue during the month of June.
  • Each monitoring point installation process may up take up to a few days within the roadway.

What to Expect

  • This equipment will be installed within roadways and sidewalks along the right-of-way on Eglinton Avenue.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to drilling, saw-cutting, hydro-vaccing, and the use of heavy equipment.

Traffic Details

  • During the day, traffic lanes may be reduced. Short term lane closures will allow the crews to perform their work safely. Some lane closures may be left in place overnight for a few days.
  • Parking spaces may be impacted depending on the location of the installation. Protection is set-up around the work area, which may require a few spots at a time.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

Pedestrians

  • To ensure safety, pedestrian detours may be required during this phase of construction.

Driveways

  • This construction may temporarily block driveways
