What: The jet grout plant at Eglinton Avenue West and Gilgorm Road will no longer be needed and will be taken down over the next few weeks. This will result in road closures at the south end of Gilgorm Road.
When: The demobilization of the plant has started and will continue over the next couple of weeks. The road closure is expected to start as early as October 2 and last for approximately six days. The site will no longer occupy the south end of Gilgorm Road after October 9.
How: A large crane/rig will be installed on Gilgorm Road adjacent to the site and will be used to disassemble the jet grout plant and/or various equipment during the week as the equipment is hauled away by large trucks.
Although every effort will be made to keep disruptions to a minimum, some noise associated with construction, delivery and removal of materials can be expected at this site.
Traffic Details
- The intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Gilgorm Road will be closed as a result of the crane and disassembly of the plant
- There will be no northbound traffic onto Gilgorm Road due to the closure, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- North of the site, Gilgorm Road will be converted to a two-way street (for local traffic only) for the duration of the work. There will be no southbound access to Eglinton Avenue during this time.
