 WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

To complete the temporary water service connections required for the watermain lining work, a number of properties between the Main Entrance site and 1562 Eglinton Ave West will be connected to the temporary water service from the front of the properties. This work will occur overnight on September 19th and 20th. Works will include digging in to the sidewalk near these properties.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Businesses and tenants in 1572, 1570, 1564 or 1562, will have a one (1) hour water shut off between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Monday September 24th.
  • Small pits will be excavated in the sidewalk between the Main Entrance and 1562 Eglinton Ave W.
  • All pits will be plated during the day to minimize impacts. 
  • Residents and businesses near the work zone can expected to hear noise from generators, pavement cutting, hydro-vacuum trucks, and other construction equipment.

 TIMING

  • Work will occur on the night of September 19th and September 20th.
  • Work will occur between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
  • Overnight works are planned to reduce disruptions to traffic and transit as well as for utility outages to reduce impacts to local residents and businesses.
