WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Crews are currently completing support of excavation (or shoring) on the north side of Eglinton. As part of this work, two special polymer piles (vertical steel beams) will be installed.  Special polymer piles are large in depth and size.  Therefore, a longer drilling and concrete pouring period is required. To ensure the structural integrity of each pile, once installation begins, it cannot be stopped.

While every effort will be made to complete the special pile installations before 11:00PM, please expect that there may be some instances that work will go later.

TIMING

  • Special pile installation will begin as early as February 27 and take one (1) week.
  • Crews will work diligently to complete the pile installations prior to 11:00 PM, but necessary permissions have been obtained in case work goes later than 11:00 PM.
  • Work may be delayed due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Noise from construction equipment and vehicles can be expected.
  • Site lighting can be expected.
  • Truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone can be expected.
