What work is taking place?
- As preparatory works continue for future at-grade stops, crews will begin utility investigation work to determine the location and depth of existing utilities along Eglinton Avenue East between Victoria Park Avenue and Birchmount Road
What to Expect
- Crews will drill and vacuum over top of existing utilities within the boulevard and roadway.
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise caused by core drills and vacuum trucks.
- Then a surveyor will examine the utilities to obtain coordinates for design purposes.
- Once the work is complete, roads will be backfilled and restored accordingly.
Timing
- Utility investigations will begin as early as late-August, 2016 and will take approximately one week to complete.
- Work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic and Pedestrian Details
- Intermittent lane reductions along Eglinton Avenue East, between Victoria Park Avenue and Birchmount Road, will be required to access utilities within the roadway.
- Pedestrian and property access will be maintained.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites. Traffic delays are expected during construction.
