Telecommunication Relocation Continues at Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue East

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Crews will continue to relocate telecommunications infrastructure crossing Leslie Street at Eglinton Ave East. The next crossing will occur as early as March 21, 2019 and will consist of three (3) traffic stages (depicted below). 

TIMING 

• Work is expected to begin as early as Thursday, March 21, 2019 and continue for approximately one (1) week. 
• This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Lane reductions will be required with a minimum of one through lane of traffic in each direction maintained.
• There may be occurrences where a shoulder is narrowed and/or a traffic protection barrier is placed to accommodate safe working conditions.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

• Lane reductions will be required with a minimum of one through lane of traffic in each direction maintained. As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

 PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

• The north sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East will be closed west of Leslie Street. The south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East will be closed east of Leslie. 

TTC IMPACTS

• The eastbound TTC stop at Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue East will remain closed.

Travelling Smart during Construction
Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
