What Work is Taking Place?

To accommodate upcoming shoring activities for the new Cedarvale LRT Station, crews will be relocating a Toronto hydro infrastructure from underground ducting to overhead cables. The work will involve trenching and removing the existing duct banks, and installing new overhead hydro cables.


  • The work is expected to take place as early as March 26 for approximately four weeks.
  • Work will occur during regular day-time hours from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.

What to Expect

  • The work will take place in the existing work zones.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by an excavator, crane, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • All access to businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

Transit Access

  • Access to the TTC Eglinton West Subway Station will be maintained at all times.

Travelling Smart During Construction

  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
  • Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
