What Work is Taking Place?

A change in traffic alignment was implemented late November, 2018 on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street.

Eastbound and westbound traffic has been rerouted to a temporary road south of the construction zone to accommodate the continued construction of the Brentcliffe Portal. Traffic will continue to be one lane in each direction.

A stop sign will be installed at the westbound ramp from Leslie Street approaching Eglinton Avenue East.

Timing

  • The traffic change will be in place as early as Friday, November 23rd, 2018 and take two (2) days to complete.
  • Once complete, traffic will remain in this configuration for up to eight (8) months.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Work may occur between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven (7) days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.

What to Expect

  • Occasional overnight work may be required. Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone.
  • As always, please take care when travelling through the work zone.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Traffic will be rerouted to a temporary road south of the construction zone on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street.
