Traffic Configuration Change at Forest Hill Station - August 30, 2022

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday, August 30, 2022, a new traffic configuration will be implemented at Forest Hill Station.

West of Bathurst Street, traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will shift to the north side of the road and construction will move to the south side of the road. East of Bathurst Street, traffic will shift to the outer lanes and construction will move to the centre of the road. The southbound right turn will reopen during this traffic stage.

The crosswalks on the west and south sides of the intersection will partially close. This traffic configuration will remain in place for approximately one (1) month.

What to Expect

Overnight noise can be expected while the traffic changes are being implemented. Expect delays while traveling through the intersection. Utility, road, and sidewalk restoration works will continue on Eglinton Avenue West and Bathurst Street during this traffic stage. During these activities, noise from construction equipment such as excavators, jackhammers, trucks, and hand tools can be expected. Concrete barriers, fencing and traffic barrels will be in place to delineate work zones.

HOURS OF WORK

• The new traffic configuration will be implemented as early as Tuesday, August 30, 2022, and will remain in place for approximately one (1) month
• Overnight work may be required to implement the traffic changes  
• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• West of Bathurst Street, traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will shift to the north side of the road and construction will move to the south side of the road
• East of Bathurst Street, traffic will shift to the outer lanes and construction will move to the centre of the road
• The southbound right turn lane will reopen during this traffic stage  

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• The crosswalks on the west and south sides of the intersection will partially close (refer to map)
• The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will partially close between Peveril Hill Road North and Bathurst Street
• The sidewalk on the west side of Bathurst Street will partially close south of Eglinton Avenue West
• Temporary walkways will be installed to maintain pedestrian access
