Traffic Configuration Change at Forest Hill Station - Late December 2022

What Work is Taking Place?

In late December 2022, a new traffic configuration will be implemented at Forest Hill Station. Westbound and eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue will be reinstated to two through lanes. Northbound and southbound traffic on Bathurst Street north of Eglinton Avenue will be reinstated to two through lanes. All eastbound, westbound, and southbound turns will be reinstated. All sidewalks and crosswalks are expected to open. This traffic configuration is expected to remain in place through early 2023.  

What to Expect

Reinstatement of traffic lanes, turns, and pedestrian routes at Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue. Fencing will remain in place around the station entrances for security purposes. Delays can be expected while the traffic changes are being implemented. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while the traffic changes are being implemented. During this traffic stage, periodic short-term lane closures may be required to facilitate specialized activities.

HOURS OF WORK

• As early as late December 2022 through early 2023.
• Overnight work may be required to implement the traffic changes.
• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Westbound and eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue will be reinstated to two through lanes.
• Northbound and southbound traffic on Bathurst Street north of Eglinton Avenue will be reinstated to two through lanes.
• All eastbound, westbound, and southbound turns will be reinstated.
• Future long-term lane closures in the vicinity of the intersection are likely unrelated to the Eglinton Crosstown Project due to the private development construction occurring at the southwest corner.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• All sidewalks and crosswalks are expected to open.
