What Work is Taking Place?

TTC’s Line 1 subway will be closed between Lawrence and St. Clair stations from Saturday July 18 and Sunday July 19, 2020, while crews perform work at the Berwick Portal site located on the south side of Berwick Avenue at Yonge Street.  Construction activities will include installation of insulation at track level, removal of scaffolding and formwork, truss installation and surveying.  Work will take place on a 24 hour basis from 2:00 a.m. on Saturday July 18 until 3:00 a.m. on Monday July 20, 2020.  Berwick Avenue will remain open while this work takes place.

 

Hours of Work

Construction will take place Saturday July 18, 2020 at 2:00 a.m. – Monday July 20, 2020 at 3:00 a.m.

Crews will work 24 hours during the subway closure

Please note that this work is subject to cancellation

What to Expect

Existing construction zones at Yonge St and Eglinton Ave and Yonge St and Berwick Ave will remain in place

Noise from construction activity can be expected

All property access will be maintained

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

No change to the existing traffic and pedestrian configuration is required for this work

 

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
