What Work is Taking Place?

Construction of a temporary manhole at Eglinton Avenue West and Duplex Avenue is required to enable the continued relocation of utilities for the construction of Eglinton Station.

 

Hours of Work

  • Work is expected to begin Saturday, April 7th and last for approximately 1-2 days.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 

What to Expect

  • Crews will be occupying a portion of Eglinton Avenue West at Duplex Avenue.
  • One lane in each direction on Eglinton Avenue will be maintained.
  • A paid-duty officer will be present.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by a pile drill, crane, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
  • Heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone, and traveling through nearby streets can be expected.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • All access to businesses is maintained throughout the stages.

 

Transit Information

  • Access to the TTC Eglinton Subway Station will be maintained.
  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information. 

 

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
