What Work is Taking Place

Work will continue replacing and relocating existing utilities in the area of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue to make way for the future Eglinton interchange station. Storm and sanitary sewers, water mains, hydro ducts, and telecommunications utilities are being replaced and relocated in a series of stages. During this stage, work will take place on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east and west of Yonge Street.

  • Work is expected to begin as early as June 2017.
  • This stage of the utilities relocation is expected to last up to 2 months.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Occasional overnight work may be required. Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
