What Work is Taking Place?

  • 7 Eglinton Avenue East, the Salvation Army Community Church building, is being demolished to make way for the construction of Eglinton Station.


  • Work is expected to begin as early as late June 2016, and will last for approximately 2-3 months.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work is subject to permits and all relevant approvals, and may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Residents and businesses near demolition sites should anticipate noise from excavators, bobcats, and other construction equipment as well as dust caused by demolition activity and removal of debris. 
  • For safety purposes, temporary metal fencing will be installed around each demolition site, with spotters present at gates as required during working hours.

Traffic Details

  • Access to Holly Street from Eglinton Avenue will be temporarily closed for approximately four (4) weeks.
  • Cowbell Lane will close intermittently throughout the demolition.

Pedestrian Details

  • Pedestrian access along Eglinton Avenue will be maintained with a covered sidewalk around the work site.
  • Pedestrian access to Holly Street from Eglinton Avenue will be maintained. 

Business Access

All access to businesses is maintained throughout the demolition.
