August 19, 2019

Following the community meeting held on January 17, 2019, the vacant city property at 117 Brownville Ave has been approved as an access point for rail corridor construction works. Adding this second access point will keep overnight work to a minimum and increase productivity. Crews will begin using 117 Brownville Ave to access the corridor south of Eglinton Ave as early as Wednesday August 21, 2019. Initial activities will include road and grading works, and fencing installation.

West Corridor development began in June 2019. Construction activities during this phase will include LRT Tunnels, GO Bridge Expansion, and GO Platforms.

  • Access to the rail corridor via 117 Brownville Ave to begin as early as Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
  • West Corridor development will begin as early as June 2019, scheduled through to summer 2020.
  • Crews are expected to work 7am-11pm daily. Occasional overnight and weekend work may be required and will be communicated separately.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by loaders, trucks, and other construction equipment, as well as dust from debris removal.
  • Truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone, and travelling through nearby streets can be expected due to the new haul routes and access points.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage.

  • TTC bus routes will be maintained.
  • Access to Weston Rd and Eglinton Ave will be maintained.
  • All existing sidewalks and crosswalks will be maintained during this work.
