Underground excavation work will commence in early August in the tunnels below Eglinton Avenue East at Lillian Street. This work will occur on a 24 hour basis with all works being completed below ground. The excavation will create a connection corridor underground between the north tunnel and the south tunnel. The work is expected to last for approximately two (2) weeks.

The dewatering system that has been operating on a 24 hour basis since earlier in 2019 will continue to operate on the surface during these works. The only other activity that will occur on the surface during the excavation is reviewing the monitoring equipment that is currently in place in the right of way on a regular basis.

TIMING

  • Periodic maintenance of surface dewatering equipment and readings of monitoring equipment will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
