Underground excavation continues in the tunnels below Eglinton Avenue East at Lillian Street. This work occurs on a 24- hour basis and is expected to be completed by February 2020. The excavation will create a connection corridor underground between the north tunnel and the south tunnel.

The dewatering system located on the southeast corner of Lillian Street that has been operating on a 24-hour basis since early 2019, will continue to operate on the surface until excavation is complete.

A second generator was put in place at the site in November 2019. This may cause the working area to appear bigger. The generator is required during the excavation stage until the lining is complete and stable. This second generator is a backup and will not operate at the same time as the existing generator.

Another activity that will occur on the surface during the excavation, includes the reviewing of the monitoring equipment that is currently in place in the right of way on a regular basis.
