What Work is Taking Place?
Crews at Avenue Station are currently installing hydro poles on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West. As early as Monday, August 15, 2022, hydro pole installations will begin on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West.
To complete this work safely, portions of the eastbound curb lane on Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily closed between Avenue Road and Oriole Parkway (refer to map). Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one eastbound lane in certain areas. This work will take place from Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately four (4) weeks. Traffic lanes are expected to reopen after each day of work.
What to Expect
Installation of the permanent hydro poles on Eglinton Avenue West. Noise from construction equipment including trucks and hand tools can be expected. Expect delays while traveling through the Intersection. Property access will be maintained.
HOURS OF WORK
- As early as Monday, August 15, 2022, hydro pole installations will begin on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West
- This work is expected to take place from Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., for approximately four (4) weeks
- This work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- In certain areas, Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one eastbound lane between Avenue Road and Oriole Parkway
- Traffic lanes are expected to reopen after each day of work
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- No changes to the current pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work
