What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Wednesday, August 31, 2022, new pedestrian routes will be implemented at Leaside Station. The temporary pedestrian walkway around the Main Entrance site will close to facilitate hard landscaping works. The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east of Bayview Avenue, will open. Periodically, the pedestrian crossing on the south side of the intersection will be relocated further south. A Paid Duty Officer will be present to assist pedestrians crossing the road. These pedestrian routes will remain in place for approximately one (1) month.
Simultaneously, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, west of Bayview Avenue, will temporarily close for approximately two (2) days to complete sidewalk restoration works.
What to Expect
Closure of the pedestrian walkway around the Leaside Station Main Entrance. Periodic pedestrian rerouting at the south crosswalk. Noise from construction activity can be expected. Advance signage will be in place to direct pedestrians.
HOURS OF WORK
• As early as Wednesday, August 31, 2022 for approximately one (1) month.
• The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, west of Bayview Avenue, will temporarily close for approximately two (2) days.
• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
• No changes to the current traffic configuration are expected as a result of this work.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
• The temporary pedestrian walkway around the Leaside Station Main Entrance site will close (refer to map).
• The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east of Bayview Avenue, will open.
• Periodically, the pedestrian crossing on the south side of the intersection will be relocated further south; a Paid Duty Officer will be present to assist pedestrians crossing the road.
• Simultaneously, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, west of Bayview Avenue, will be closed for a short duration.
