What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday, September 6, 2022 crews at Mount Pleasant Station will begin sidewalk restoration work on the south side of Eglinton Avenue between Brownlow Avenue and Mount Pleasant Road. To complete this work safely, pedestrians will be diverted north around the area where the new sidewalk is being built (refer to map). This work is expected to take place between 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. Periodic sidewalk restoration work will take place in this area for approximately four (4) weeks.

What to Expect

Access to and from Eglinton Junior Public School will be maintained. Temporary pedestrian rerouting will be in effect. Noise from construction equipment including jackhammers, concrete trucks, and hammers can be expected. Fencing, barriers, and filter cloth will be in place to delineate work zones. Advance signage will be installed to direct pedestrians around the closure. The existing sidewalk will be removed, and a new sidewalk will be constructed. Once this work is completed, the sidewalk will reopen.
