Utilities Crossing at Don Valley Parkway West and Eglinton Avenue East  

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

In support of construction of the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT stops and guideway (dedicated transit lane), crews will be lowering hydro infrastructure crossing Eglinton Avenue East at the Don Valley Parkway West ramps. The work will be completed in two (2) stages, traffic configurations are depicted below.  Work is expected to to begin as early as September 3, 2019 and continue for up to three (3) weeks.   

TIMING

  • Work will begin as early as September 3, 2019 and continue for up to three (3) weeks. 
  • This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Crews will be excavating and lowering the hydro utilities crossing on Eglinton Avenue East at the Don Valley Parkway West ramps in preparation for guideway construction. 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Lane reductions will be required with a minimum of one through lane of traffic in each direction maintained.
  • There may be occurrences where a shoulder is narrowed and/or a traffic protection barrier is placed to accommodate safe working conditions.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

· Current pedestrian routes will be maintained.
