What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday October 15th, crews at Fairbank station will be reopening the south pedestrian sidewalk on Eglinton Ave W, east of Dufferin Street. Crews will also continue the final utilities work within the station work zone. Crews will be completing wet and dry utilities installation, including finalizing the Bell utilities chamber. All work will continue to occur within the current work zone. Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while this work takes place.  

Hours of Work

  • As early as Tuesday October 15th, the south pedestrian sidewalk will reopen, east of Dufferin Street.
  • Utilities work will continue throughout October 2019.
  • Crews will be working Monday to Friday, as early as 7:00am until 11:00pm.

What to Expect

  • In addition to daily construction activities, crews will be continuing with dry and wet utilities works. This includes storm, sewer, and water pipes, hydro works, and Bell utilities encasement.
  • Service for residents and businesses will not be affected by these works.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.


Traffic Details

  • The pedestrian route on the west side of Dufferin will remain closed. The north, south, and east crosswalk will remain open.
  • Access to properties along Vaughan Rd, Eglinton Ave W and Dufferin St will be maintained.
  • No impacts to TTC bus service.
