What Work is Taking Place?

  • In order to prepare for construction of Eglinton Station, utilities must be relocated to allow for piling and excavation. Over the last few weeks, crews have been working on relocating water mains and sewers at the Yonge-Eglinton intersection.
  • In order to complete the first stage of the work, a set of water valves will be shut off to allow for the connection of a new temporary combined sewer and water main.
  • Water service will be maintained but properties may experience lower than typical water pressure.
  • Properties that may be affected will be along Eglinton Ave. from Duplex Ave. to Holly St., and along Yonge St. between Orchard View Blvd. and Berwick Ave.

  • This set of valves will be closed as early as Saturday, March 11, 2017 and will remain for approximately 3 months.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work is subject to permits and all relevant approvals, and may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
  • As a result of the valve closures, some properties may experience a reduction in water pressure.
