Watermain Valve Installation and Servicing Work at Fairbank Station 


What work is taking place?

In advance of support of excavation in the roadway, crews will install a new valve in the existing, operating watermain and perform service work on the main at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street.  Rolling lane closures will be in effect to accommodate this work.


  • Beginning as early as May 17 for approximately one (1) week
  • This work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven days a week.
  • This work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances

What to Expect

  • Temporary rolling lane closures will be in effect along Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West.
  • Temporary pedestrian rerouting may be in effect.
  • Pedestrians and motorists can expect delays when travelling through the intersection.
  • Noise caused by construction equipment and trucks can be expected
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites
