Overnight Road Closures for Tunnel Boring Machine Removal March – April 2020

 

What Work is Taking Place?

In March 2020, crews at Eglinton LRT Station will began removing the tunnel boring machines (TBMs) from the excavation on the northeast corner of Duplex Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West.  The TBMs are being removed six several loads, followed by approximately 25 smaller loads.  The six heavy loads will be removed using a crane that will place each load onto a truck to be taken to an off-site facility.   Read more »

Upcoming Berwick Avenue Road Closures for TTC Line 1 Facility Service Building Construction - Friday March 13, 2020

 

What Work is Taking Place?

In 2020, crews will conduct a series of closures of Berwick Avenue between Duplex Avenue and Yonge Street to perform supporting construction activities for TTC’s Line 1 Subway Facility Services Building.  

The next road closure is scheduled for Friday March 13, 2020.  During the closure, a large crane will be erected in the roadway and will be used to lift equipment into the work zone. Read more »

TTC Bus Rerouting at Eglinton Station: Late March to Late Summer 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

In late March 2020, the bus loop at Eglinton West Station, located at Allen Road and Eglinton Avenue, will be closed for approximately five (5) months while crews construct a roof for the future Cedarvale LRT Station. During the closure, the 32D Eglinton West bus will extend to Eglinton Station.  Read more »

Line 1 Subway Closure and Berwick Avenue Road Closure for TTC Line 1 Facility Service Building Construction - Friday January 17 – 20, 2020

 

 

What Work is Taking Place?

Construction of a new Facility Service Building for TTC’s Line 1 Subway is underway at Berwick Avenue and Yonge Street.  Some of the work can only be safely performed while the subway is not operational.  Crews will work Friday January 17 through Monday January 20, 2020, to perform plumbing work at the Berwick Ave site, maintenance north of the platform track and to install additional hoarding on the platform for elevator construction.

UPDATE: Deep Excavation Works at Eglinton Station

What Work is Taking Place?

Deep excavation work will continue to prepare for station construction through 2020. This work will include excavating to the bottom of the future station box (approximately 22 meters at the deepest point). Spoils from the excavation will be extracted and hauled from the existing TTC bus depot site at the southeast corner of Duplex Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West, and the Salvation Army site at the corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Cowbell Lane.
