What Work is Taking Place?
On Sunday June 21, 2020, TTC’s Line 1 subway will be closed between Sheppard-Yonge and St. Clair stations while crews perform sump maintenance work. Berwick Avenue will remain open while this work takes place.

Elevator Construction at Eglinton Station
What Work is Taking Place?
In June 2020, crews will begin construction of a new elevator inside of 2200 Yonge Street (former Smoke’s Poutinerie). The elevator will service the existing TTC Eglinton Station. Using a saw cutter, core drill and jack hammer, the existing concrete will be demolished. Demolition work will take approximately two weeks to complete. Once demolition work is complete, construction of the new elevator will begin.

UPDATED: Upcoming Hydro Utility Installation Work at Berwick Avenue

What Work is Taking Place?
Since early May 2020, crews have been performing hydro utility installation work in the existing work zone on Berwick Avenue and in the Berwick-Hillsdale laneway. A hydro chamber was constructed and now, cable work is being completed in the north half of the laneway. Approximately one (1) week of work remains. Once complete, the area will be restored.

Update: Cross Passage 10 at Eglinton Avenue East and Lillian Street
What Work is Taking Place?
Excavation of the cross passage at Eglinton Avenue East and Lillian Street is complete. The north and south tunnels are now connected, allowing the next phase of construction to begin.
Crews will start permanent works within the cross passage, forming the final structure of the corridor since mid-March. Permanent works, including rebar installation, waterproofing, and concrete pours, will take approximately four (4) months to complete. Work will take place on a 24-hour basis. Read more »
Upcoming TTC Line 1 Closure for Berwick Portal Construction - Sunday March 29, 2020
What Work is Taking Place?
Since 2019, a series of closures of TTC’s Line 1 subway have taken place to accommodate construction a facility service building for Line 1 at Berwick Avenue and Yonge Street. On Sunday March 29, 2020, TTC’s Line 1 subway will be closed between St. Clair and Lawrence stations while crews perform hydro support beam installation and reinforcement at the track and platform level. Berwick Avenue will remain open while this work takes place.
