Overnight OCS Cable Installations at Sloane Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will be installing OCS (Overhead Catenary System) cables at Sloane Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East. Overhead catenary is the system installed overtop of the rails of a light rail system, to provide operational power to the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles). Installation will take place on from Friday, December 17 – Saturday, December 18, 2021, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. Crews will operate above the track. No significant traffic impacts are expected, while this work takes place.
What to Expect
Cables will be installed overhead using a high rail vehicle. Minimal noise is expected while this work takes place. Site lighting will be required.
HOURS OF WORK
- Friday, December 17 – Saturday, December 18, 2021.
- Work is expected to take place between 8:00 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.
- This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- No changes to the current traffic configurations or pedestrian routes are expected, as a result of this work.
- Short-term lane interruptions may be required as vehicles enter and exit the work zones.
- Traffic control personnel will be present, while this work takes place.
